Doorway, 2018; Dimensions: 36x80x40”; A free standing ready-made door with an archaeological stone jamb, stands open and leads nowhere.
No House With No Dead, 2018; Dimensions: 8x6.67x18’; A building with one-way mirrors is cut in half. The building is taped like a cardboard box, sealed to the gaze and painted with cement. In an ancient Muslim cemetery in Jerusalem, near by my previous house, the tomb stones have a curved concave to collect water from the rain, a poetic gesture to the dead.
An upside down full skeleton structure is floating above.
Mezozah I-phone; Dimensions: 2.65x5.45x7”;
The distances between the stiches to the edge of the nylon sheet were framing the door. What remarks the edges of a door? Where can we point out an edge of something that is permanently open?
