No House With No Dead, 2018

The New Gallery Artists’ Studios Teddy, Jerusalem;
A group show ‘Disorientation’, Curated by Irena Gordon

Mixed media installation;

Plywood, plaster, one-way mirrors, duck tape, cement, steel, wire cables, a ready-made door, Styrofoam, silicone, sheet metal, Nylon, sewing thread, zip locks, poster prints,  a towel, and bones.

A free standing ready-made door with an “archaeological”  keystone, stands open and leads nowhere.
A building with one-way mirrors is cut in half. The building is taped like a cardboard box, sealed to the gaze,  and painted with cement. In an ancient Muslim cemetery in Jerusalem, near by my previous house, the tomb stones have a curved concaves to collect water from the rain, a poetic gesture to the dead.
An upside down full skeleton structure is floating above.

A frame of the distance between the stiches to the edge are written from both sides on the nylon covering the door.
